On Gate 25, Innocence

The perfection of action through uncontrived and spontaneous nature. That's what Gate 25, the gate of Innocence, is about in a nutshell. Perfection of action means doing the right thing at the right time. And the point is that this is not something you're supposed to know, till you witness yourself doing the perfect thing at the perfect time, as a result of being centered into the nature of your Self.

In other words, there's just one path you're meant to walk in this life as yourself, and you will have to surrender to not knowing what that path feels like for you, till you know. Surrendering, by having life living through you. That's the key for action to be motiveless, as it's not about doing, not anymore. It' s just about being. Being in the world as yourself in the now. Being surrendered to the present moment, no matter the challenges life puts ahead of you, no matter the struggle it takes keeping yourself alive, no matter the breaking of your spirit. As it's only by being in the now that the innocence of your spirit is preserved, by observing yourself doing the right thing at the right time.

The moment your actions are not rooted in the awareness of the present moment, innocence is not there anymore. In other words, there's an agenda, a motive behind them. "I'm doing this so that I can get there". This kind of reasoning reflects your mind's attempt to be in charge of life's flow / process / direction, and the result is that there will always be a price to pay, as you're ignoring life's natural laws. That's why the sixth line of Gate 25 is called Ignorance. And the price you will find yourself to pay might be in terms of being/feeling rejected, or in terms of not having any kind of impact on the other.
